Getting there and around
The wedding location, Gavnø Slot, is situated 6 km away from Næstved, on the Southern part of the island Sjælland.
- by car
The wedding location is easy to reach by car. Parking at Gavnø Slot is free for our guests on the wedding day.
- by public transportation
You can reach Næstved with regional trains. From Næstved you can take bus 604 towards Appenæs all the way up to Udsigtbakken (Gavnøvej), from which it is a 40 minute walk to the castle. For more information on train times, take a look at dsb.dk.
- after the wedding
To ensure everyone gets home safe after a drink or two, we will arrange bus transportation back from the wedding location to the Summer House and Næstved when the wedding day ends. So you do not have to worry about making it home or to your room.

- Stay in historic hotel Vinhuset in Næstved
We have a special arrangement with a 20% discount at hotel Vinhuset, a historic hotel in the city of Næstved. The hotel was established in 1778. In the old days it was mainly the elite that visited the venue and used it as a party location.
If you want to stay in this hotel, you can book it yourself by contacting the hotel via email (info@hotelvinhuset.dk) or phone (+45 55 72 08 07) and tell them you’re guests to our wedding to get the discount. Do not wait too long – timely reservation is essential in Denmark!
The prices below are for 2026 – after the 20% discount:

- Double rooms for DKK 908 per room for 1 person DKK 1028 for 2 people

You pay upon arrival. Accommodation includes breakfast buffet – (note: this does not include the brunch on Sunday).
- Stay in a shared Summer House at the premise, by the fjord
For those that want to turn our wedding into a pittoresque getaway: we have booked a romantic summer house directly by the water.
Gavnø 15, also known as Sophienlyst, is a fantastic forest house located on the southern tip of the island of Gavnø, directly on the water with views of Dybsø Fjord, Enø and Knushoved. The house is idyllic, undisturbed and completely private, surrounded by sea eagles, deer and forest wildlife. The house is situated on a natural plot.
Our wedding guests can share this house from Friday to Sunday. The property has room for 18-22 people (depending on how creative we get) divided over different rooms in the main building and the annex, and is newly renovated with all facilities, such as washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, etc.
600 dkk / €77 for two nights (Friday May 29 – Sunday May 31). There are amenities to cook yourself.
You can rent bedlinnen and towels for an additional 175 dkk / €25 per person.
There’s free parking.
Important note: The summer house is 2,1 km from the wedding location, so either a 30-minute walk or a 5-minute drive. We’ll take care of transportation to the Summer House after the party for those with tired feet.
Things to do in the area
If you are planning to prolong your stay – there are plenty of things to do on Southern Sjælland, including at the wedding location:
- Gavnø Slot
There will be time during the wedding day to take a tour through the castle, if you like.
Walking around the unique paintings and artefacts in the castle is a historical experience. A professional guide will lead you around the intact rococo castle and you will experience half a millennium of history with your own eyes!
