All you need to know about the wedding location: the beautiful castle island of Gavnø.

Gavnø is an island that lies in the Karrebæk Fjord, Southwest on the Danish island Sjaelland.
The wedding celebration will take place in the castle park and in the beer brewery building, which is the only “castle beer brewery” in Denmark.

History
Gavnø Castle is inhabited by the titled family Reedtz-Thott. The construction of the castle began in 1402. The north wing was built around 1650, and the construction of the east and south wings, as it appears today, has been completed around 1750. There is public access to parts of the castle and the church in the period April to September against an entrance fee.
The castle park was built in the 1750s. Originally, it was a French-style baroque garden with avenues and flower parterre. Around 1850, the garden was redesigned in English landscape style. Now the park is famous for the flowering tulips during Spring (which will most likely be just before our wedding unfortunately – but if you manage to spot a fashionably late tulip you will get an extra piece of cake…).
